Security
LAURASTAR e-shop uses powerful encryption technology called SSL.
SSL is the abbreviation for "Secure Sockets Layer", the most widely used encryption process on the Web.
Thanks to SSL encryption, all of the information exchanged between your browser (e.g. Internet Explorer, Netscape...) and our Internet site server is unaccessible to third parties. SSL guarantees the security of bank transactions on the Internet.
How to identify a secure SSL connection?
SSL is identifiable by the user in the sense that no manipulation will be asked of you in order to navigate around a SSL secured Web site.
You can also identify a SSL connection by the address line in your navigator bar starting with https://... instead of ...
Furthermore, a closed padlock appears in the status bar of your browser.
SSL navigation problems.
Recent versions of most standard browsers support the SSL encryption process. However, a firewall (generally concerning connections from a business network) or certain parameters of your browser can block SSL connections.
What happens during a SSL connection?
SSL security encryption of transactions is based on an exchange of what are known as "keys" between your browser and our secure server according to this principle:
When you connect to our secure server for the first time, your browser asks it to authenticate itself.
Our server then sends back a certificate containing a public key signed by a certification authority.
Your browser thus verifies the validity of the certificate and then creates a secret key at random and configures this key with the help of the server's public key and then sends it the result (called the session key).
Our server is able to decode the session key with its own private key. Thus, the two entities have a shared key known only to them. The remainder of the transactions are made with the help of the session key, guaranteeing the integrity and confidentiality of the data exchanged.
The site does not retain your credit card number.
Your credit / debit card number is not retained in the sales records of the site.
This necessitates the reentry of this information for future orders.
