Can I add my own essential oils to the scented tab once the citrus smell fades?

We strongly advise against it. The original Laurastar citrus tabs are impregnated under pressure with a 100% plant-based fragrance — a precision process that ensures even diffusion throughout the wood fibres over many hours.

If you add your own essential oils, the oil sits on the surface of the wood rather than being evenly absorbed. This means all the fragrance is released with the very first steam jet — which can deposit an oily residue on the surfaces you're treating and leave the scent lasting minutes rather than hours.

One original Laurastar tab lasts approximately 12 hours of active steaming. When the citrus scent fades, replace it with a new tab.
