Yes, absolutely. Dust mites live at a maximum depth of 2 cm, as do bacteria and viruses. Bed bugs stay on the surface, in the seams and on the bed frame. Therefore, disinfecting the side of the mattress you sleep on is crucial. However, please beware of the heat resistance of your mattress, as Laurastar DMS can reach up to 160°C and could damage it.
