What kind of water should I use to fill AURA?

Use ordinary tap water — no need to buy distilled or demineralised water. The Laurastar AURA is designed to work with its dedicated anti-scale filter cartridges, which remove limescale minerals before they can reach the Thermoblock.

Use the water hardness test strip provided and enter the result into the Laurastar app. This calibrates the exact lifespan of your cartridge based on your local water supply. When the yellow warning light appears, replace the cartridge promptly — delay risks limescale build-up that could require an out-of-warranty repair.

Avoid anything other than plain tap water: sparkling water, rainwater, tumble-dryer condensate, and fragranced water can all damage the internal system and void your warranty.

Tap water only. The anti-scale cartridge does the hard work of protecting your machine. Save money on expensive filtered water and let the system do its job.
